Bottle (Bottle Number)
All bottles sent to laboratory should be labeled with a unique Bottle Number.
On a given label, the Bottle Number is the Sample ID with a single digit appended to the end; this digit differentiates multiple bottles from the same sampling point on the same date (e.g. fixed/unfixed).

Plan
a schedule that prescribes sampling to be repeated over a period of time. Plans define not only the sampling dates, but also the points to sample and the analyses to be done at each.
A Plan is a set of FACTS Sessions.

Program
one or more Plans. All Plans within a Project are for the same treatment system and should be funded or organized by the same entity.
Programs can be useful if sampling points within the same treatment system should be monitored at different intervals.

Project
A Project is the same as a treatment system.

Sample (Sample ID)
Represents the water quality at a specific date and sampling point.
Samples are identified by a Sample ID.
A single sample may have multiple Bottles if the laboratory needs different preparations (e.g. acified, filtered) to do the various analyses.

Session
a visit to monitor a treatment system, including the field tests and lab samples collected and later analyzed.
Sessions are prescribed to occur within a certain time frame, according to a FACTS Plan.
