Description: A passive system was installed in 2005 utilizing $350,000 grant from EPA 319 program and $55,000 grant from the US Office of Surface Mining. In 2008 funding of $48,758 from WPCAMR's quick response program was used to repair berms of ponds A & B as well fix a swale. Then in 2010, a grant from EPA 319 of $23,370 removed the treatment media of a vertical flow pond so that the system would consist of just 3 settling ponds. Also at that time trench outlet/inlet structures were installed in Ponds B and C to better distribute flow.
